We enjoyed mtg our colleagues in west coast houses for first time last yr. its great to see oakland and san fran running events together and see silver spring and dc also collaborating. we discussed possibility of a boulder moho, which there surely could be demand for, but we'll have to be patient as this has yet to materialize just yet.

anyway, we believe collaboration often starts with the face to face person to person, so looking fwd to participating in our first national gathering in a few weeks. west coast gathering was great last yr, and idea was suggested to have joint moho check-ins to promote collaboration, but this hasn't yet materialized. one thing that has worked well is hearing about what events are going on elsewhere.

1. We're going to continue spreading the word
2. Check out other organizations in town (with the idea that we meet, make connections, and identify synergies)
3. We're going to keep hosting awesome events that attract the attention of 20-somethings in Denver!

Moishe House Denver on the Future of the Organization

Imagine your Moishe House has been chosen by a local newspaper to discuss the future of the organization as a whole in the long term - what would you say?

We were recently interviewed by the Intermountain Jewish News. Our thoughts and views will be expressed in the article coming out in the next couple weeks! As a preview, we believe this organization is connecting with a new generation in ways that re-invigorate, re-engage, and re-connect with the growing young adult Jewish community around the globe.

What would you say is the mission statement for your local Moishe House?

To serve as a hub for the young adult Jewish community. Our vision is a place where we spend time together in a home environment, create our own unique vision of an ideal Jewish communal space, and connect with tikkun olam both locally, and globally.

Moishe House Denver

Hi All,

This is the first blog from Moishe House Denver. We're quite excited to be a part of this great initiative. The house currently consists of three of us (Josh, Natalie, and Elliot), joined by a small, but growing young community here in Denver. Our house location is spectacular (right in front of Washington Park), and we have a very diverse, dynamic group of individuals here very much looking forward to being involved in the local Moishe House community.

Our first couple events in October have been a great success. We've had a shabbat dinner, sunday morning pancakes/hike, and tomorrow, we'll be hosting an evening event - watching the undefeated Denver Broncos take on the San Diego Chargers in Monday Night Football. The Sunday morning pancakes was initially going to be a hike in the rocky mountains, but it was snowing that day (early even for Colorado), so the group was more up for an indoor lazy sunday morning of pancakes and hot chocalate. However, a few of use made it out for tossing a frisbee around in Washington Park, a spot we plan to take advantage of all year round.

Next month, the group is very keen on taking part in a volunteer event and in a week's time, we'll be meeting the west coast Moishe houses - which we're very much looking forward to.
